# Submit a trail or campsite.

Upload photos or enter coordinates. Add access, site, and hookup information. An editor checks the submission before it appears on the Backroads Map.

TYPE OF PLACE

### Select the type of place.

A trail report contains two or more stops. A campsite report contains one location.

Trail or backroad Use two or more photos with GPS data. The system uses the photo locations to make a route. Photos → stops → route → details Campsite Submit a dispersed site, campground, RV park, backcountry site, or legal overnight stop. Photo or coordinates → site details

### Add photos from one trip.

The system reads GPS data and capture time in your browser. It uploads the files only when you send the submission. The files stay private during review.

If you do not have photos with GPS data, continue. Add at least two route stops.

02 · STOPS

### Check the route stops.

The system groups nearby photos. Put the stops in travel order. Drag a photo to another stop when the automatic grouping is wrong. Drag a stop by its number, or use the arrow buttons.

### Give access information for the trail.

Describe the legal access, difficult sections, road surface, and turnaround points. Add the limits that a driver must know.

### Check the submission.

The submission stays private during review. An editor checks the access, route, and location. The editor controls publication.

Put the stops in travel order. Add access limits, hazards, campsites, and turnaround points.

### Send the submission for review.

An editor checks the access and route. The editor does not publish a private or sensitive location.

## View approved trails and campsites on the Backroads Map.

Gold lines with dark borders show community trails. Gold symbols show approved campsites, campgrounds, RV parks, and overnight stops. A campsite tag can also publish a trail stop as a campsite.
