CHARGE TRAIL RETURN USE THE SITE RESPONSIBLY ## EV Backroads is a planning aid, not a promise. ## Acceptance By using EV Backroads, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. Do not use the site if you do not agree. If you use the site for an organization, you confirm that you can accept these terms for that organization. ## Who can use the site You must be at least 13 years old. If the law where you live does not let you accept these terms by yourself, a parent or legal guardian must approve your use. ## Planning only EV Backroads provides editorial information, community reports, charging data, route geometry, models, and planning tools. It does not provide navigation, emergency, legal, engineering, electrical, vehicle-repair, or professional safety advice. Check primary sources and actual conditions before you travel or charge. ## Your responsibility You are responsible for the route, vehicle, equipment, charging plan, permits, access, weather decision, recovery plan, and conduct of your trip. Obey signs, closures, land rules, fire rules, traffic laws, and charger rules. Do not enter private property or expose a sensitive place. ## Maps and third-party terms The site uses Google Maps Platform. When you use a Google map on EV Backroads, you also agree to the Google Terms of Service and the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service. Google map content can differ from actual conditions. Other linked services and publishers have their own terms and privacy policies. ## Public APIs and agents You can use documented public APIs and agent skills for lawful planning and approved Trail Commons submissions. Follow the published schemas, rate limits, attribution rules, and human-approval steps. Do not bypass controls, overwhelm a service, probe private endpoints, or attempt to obtain private contributor or editorial data. ## Your submissions You keep ownership of content that you submit. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit it and that it does not violate another person’s privacy, copyright, trademark, contract, or other right. Do not submit illegal access, a closed route, a sensitive location, malicious files, or misleading safety information. ## License for submitted content When you submit content, you give EV Backroads a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, review, edit for clarity, safety, and privacy, reproduce, display, distribute, and make technical adaptations of that content. This license is limited to operating, explaining, and promoting EV Backroads and its published community guide. You can request removal. Copies can remain where reasonably needed for backups, moderation history, attribution, legal duties, or content that another user already received. ## Editorial control EV Backroads can reject, edit, generalize, unpublish, or remove a submission. Editorial review does not prove that a route is legal, safe, open, accurate, or suitable for a vehicle. ## EV Backroads content The site design, original text, software, data products, and brand elements belong to EV Backroads or its licensors unless a page says otherwise. Source data, photographs, maps, and linked materials can have separate licenses and attribution. These terms do not give you ownership of that material. ## Prohibited use Do not use the site to break a law, harm a person or place, interfere with the service, defeat access controls, spread malware, impersonate someone, submit information you know is false, scrape a third-party map, or build autonomous driving or real-time safety control from EV Backroads data. ## Availability and changes We can change, suspend, or remove a feature, dataset, page, submission, or account. We can update these terms. Continued use after an update means that the updated terms apply, except where the law requires another form of notice or consent. ## No warranties To the maximum extent that law permits, EV Backroads is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise that information is complete, current, accurate, available, secure, or suitable for a trip, vehicle, route, charger, or purpose. Rights that cannot legally be excluded remain in effect. ## Limits on liability To the maximum extent that law permits, EV Backroads and its contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss, or for lost data, lost use, vehicle damage, towing, charging costs, personal injury, property damage, or a failed trip that results from use of or reliance on the site.
