ACCESS FOR MORE DRIVERS
Accessibility at EV Backroads
We want more people to plan an EV backroad trip. Tell us when the site creates a barrier.
OUR APPROACH
We use WCAG 2.2 Level AA as the target.
Commitment
EV Backroads works to make its public pages, planning tools, forms, maps, and editorial content usable by people with disabilities. WCAG 2.2 Level AA is our design and testing target. This statement is not a claim that every page or third-party feature fully conforms.
Features we support
The site uses semantic headings and landmarks, labeled controls, visible keyboard focus, text alternatives for meaningful images, reduced-motion support, keyboard-operable menus and forms, status messages for changing content, and responsive layouts.
Maps and complex graphics
Interactive maps, route layers, topographic profiles, and large datasets can be difficult to make fully accessible. We provide text, lists, filters, detail cards, trail-guide pages, and direct source links where practical. Contact us when you need the information in another form.
Third-party content
Google Maps, Clerk authentication, external trail guides, charger records, and linked documents are controlled by other providers. Their accessibility can differ from ours. We will help identify another route to the information when we can.
Report a barrier
Use the Contact page and write “Accessibility” in the subject. Include the page address, the task that you tried to complete, the browser or assistive technology if relevant, and the format or change that would help. Do not include medical information.
Response and updates
We review accessibility reports with product defects and editorial corrections. We can provide information in another reasonable format when possible. We update this statement as the site and its accessibility work change. Last updated August 9, 2026.
